Is this a raw food?
No, Mega Bowl meals are not raw food. We provide fresh, gently-cooked pet food. Our cooking process respects the optimal internal temperatures of all ingredients, ensuring the highest nutrient quality for your beloved pet while preventing contamination and bacteria.
What is the difference between kibble and cooked food?
Unlike kibble, which uses high temperatures and pressure, Mega Bowl prioritizes the cooking time of each ingredient to maintain excellent nutrient quality for your pet's healthy nutrition. All our ingredients are human-grade. We source the best ingredients and support local producers whenever possible.
Can I cook a fresh meal at home?
While it's theoretically possible to prepare your pet's food at home, it requires maintaining nutritional quality and safety. Mega Bowl eliminates the need for extra time, effort, or research. We are committed to your pet's safety, nutrition, and providing delicious meals.
Who formulates your diets?
Our diets are formulated by Fabia, one of the owners, who has studied pet nutrition based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and is pursuing a nutritionist degree. Patricia, with a background in biology, and a team of animal health specialists, including veterinarians, constantly seek scientific evidence to support the benefits of Mega Bowl meals.
Are these diets vet-prescribed?
We currently do not offer prescription diets for dogs. However, we are happy to discuss your pet's needs and work directly with our veterinary nutrition team to determine if Mega Bowl is the right choice. We always recommend consulting with your veterinarian for their specific needs, as they have your pet's complete medical history.
I have a picky eater. How can I ensure variety?
You can choose from five different flavors in each order every week or automatically rotate between recipes in each delivery, all at no additional cost.
How do I know that your food is appropriate for my pet's specific needs?
Mega Bowl calculates your pet's calorie needs based on factors such as age, weight, and activity level. Our system considers your pet's individual goals, whether it's weight loss or gain. But, as every pet is unique, please closely monitor your pet's progress and adjust their portions as needed.
What are the benefits of Mega Bowl compared to other brands on the market?
Mega Bowl's mission is to boost your pet's immune system with the freshest ingredients available. Unlike other brands, we offer variety with ingredients like mushrooms, seasonings, and a range of vegetables. Our diet includes natural ingredients like seeds, edible sprouts, and seasonings. Additionally, our containers are compostable, made from paper cards, and we deliver a different meal to your door every week.
How much does it cost to feed my pet fresh food?
The cost depends on factors like your pet's age, weight, and activity level. You can get a customized quote by visiting our online store at megabowl.ca. We're here to help you create a tailored plan for your pet.
How do shipments work, and is your packaging environmentally friendly?
We offer free shipping for orders of 4 packs or more across Greater Montreal, QC. Each order is freshly prepared just days before delivery and contains individually portioned meals tailored to your pet's needs. To reduce our carbon footprint, our frozen meals are packaged in compostable paper cards, and our cooler bags are reusable to keep your pet's meals fresh during transit.
Can I choose the delivery day/date?
Our delivery service occurs every Friday, so currently, you cannot choose your delivery day. However, we will notify you when your delivery leaves our facility and when it arrives
What if I am not at home when it is delivered?
You will receive a text or email notification when your order is en route and when it's delivered. If you're not at home, don't worry. Our frozen meals are packed in thermal bags, which can be left for up to 6 hours. Just ensure the food is cold or slightly frozen, and it can be refrozen.
Does my meal arrive frozen?
Yes, your meal will be delivered frozen in a thermal bag. Please transfer the meals to the freezer as soon as possible.
How long can the food be frozen for?
Mega Bowl meals are preservative-free and can be kept frozen for up to 3 months. Meals in the fridge should not be left for more than 3 days.
How can I change my address for deliveries?
For subscription customers, you can change your address in your account settings at least four (4) days before your scheduled delivery at 11:59 PM EST. Alternatively, you can contact us via email at contact@megabowl.ca. For one-time orders, it's your responsibility to ensure the correct shipping address is entered. If you make an error, please contact our customer service team immediately.
Can I reschedule, pause, or cancel orders on my account?
In your account, you can reschedule orders or cancel them up to four (4) days in advance of your scheduled delivery at 11:59 PM EST. You can also contact us via email at contact@megabowl.ca.
What is your return policy?
We do not accept returns of perishable products or opened items. Return requests for non-perishable, unopened items must be made within 2 weeks of receipt and include all original packaging. We will issue a refund, minus a $5 restocking fee, upon receipt of the returned items. Refunds may be made at our discretion in the event of any problems with the products. Typically, we will refund using the same method originally used for the purchase. See our Terms of Service for more details.
